She answered concisely and believed in the idea of a strong military has a sensible negotiating power. She is motivated to improve our military capabilities. Of all of the presidential candidates, only Leni is specific to modernizing our arm forces for credible defense posture.

It is the prerogative of a politician seeking election to both overpromise and/or lie about their policy priorities.  This is the way things are.

What you call "concise" answers can also be characterized as formulaic and scripted, designed to appeal to known voters' concerns.

A more credible measure of a candidate's policy foci can be gleaned from their history of expressed opinions and actions outside the campaign period.

Their actions speak louder than words on these matters.

All that said, even a history of supporting certain positions cannot fully account for the political circumstances when or if a candidate is elected. Even though they maybe be for or against a certain policy, factors such as a lack of political capital may prevent them from pursuing it while in office, or pressure from the public and interest groups might force them to undertake policies they were not necessarily interested in.

Long story short: Don't take the words of a politician seeking election at face value.

In any case, national security and military modernization has become a major public policy issue over the past decade, gaining critical support from not just the public but more importantly the legislature which allocated the budget. Whoever gets elected need only maintain momentum.

He said during the campaign that there's no need to build up our armed forces. It seems we are loosing hope that the AFP's modernization will continue. We just wait and see until he sit to power.  Hoping his actions speak louder than words on these matters.
