The MRF project is nowhere near ready yet.

Interesting that they'll be operating two types of dedicated attack helicopters. Any word on ATGMs?

The two Cobras share the same dynamic components as our Huey IIs, and will arguably be available before the Turkish AHs arrive. So it still makes sense as a stop-gap measure.

Yeah, I thought that was the preferred option by the PAF though, especially from a maintenance perspective. The T-129's larger, more modern, and has two engines, so not a bad choice either, probably was a lot cheaper than Apaches. Be interesting to see if they purchase any TOWs for the AH-1F, or more Spike-ERs for the T-129.

More Spike-ER for T129 would be a logical choice since it is already in our inventory.

- three ground based air defense systems from Israel.

Is it confirmed to be SPYDER-MR (50km range)?....so it is probably 3 squadrons of GBADS, each consisting of one (1) mobile command and control unit (with MMR or ATAR?) and four (4) mobile firing units (SPYDER-MR - 8 missiles per firing unit?)

The purchase of the SPYDER (Surface-to-air PYthon and DERby) will be purchased by Manila under the Revised AFP Modernization Program Horizon 2 phase by the Philippine Air Force (PAF) for its Ground-Based Air Defense System (GBADS) acquisition project.

According to the MaxDefense blog, the selection of the system has already been passed to the Department of National Defense (DND) for negotiation with Israel’s Ministry of Defense International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
