take note of the radar.. same as those of our PN Incoming Frigates

Based on the above rendering, the armament of the Saudi ships will be consist of:
- 2x4 Boeing Harpoon Block II anti-ship missiles
- 16x vertical launchers for Raytheon ESSM surface to air missiles
- 1x 76 mm Leonardo Super Rapid naval gun system
- 1x 35mm Rheinmetall Oerlikon Millenium CIWS
- 2x remote weapon stations
- 2x triple 324-mm torpedo launchers.
- 2x CHAFF decoy launchers
- 1x Multi function radar (possibly TRS-3D)
- A hangar and helicopter pad to accommodate a 10-ton class helicopter.

based also on the statement, it will also be delivered in 2019, earlier than 2020 previously mentioned..

few more days to go before the steel-cutting.. hope we could see the render of the complete fit out of the PN frigates..

maybe, we could learn something here in the light of the PN Submarine Program..

Now you got me curious, Sir A. if the radars are not the option for the FAP, so there is a number of options for the Radar besides the two...

NS100 is AESA while TRS-3D is PESA ...

tama ba ako?

which is more value for money between the two radars?

thank you, Sir Ma for the info...

Pardon my ignorance, sir Ma..

whats the difference between Strike Length and shorter variants of Mk 41 VLS?

How many missiles can be installed on each cell for strike length and shorter variants?

does the K-VLS compatible with any SAM system susch Sea Barak 8 or Sea Specter or Mica?

so where did the 14$million dollar figure came from?

The OPV design selected by the Qatari Navy has a length of 63 meters, a maximum breadth of 9.20 meters, a draft of 2.60 meters for a full load displacement of 670 tons.

Its maximum speed is set to be 30 knots, its range 1500 nautical miles (at 15 knots). The propulsion system consists in 4x diesel engines, 4 shafts and 4 fixed pitched propellers. It will have an endurance of 7 days at sea.

The crew complement will be 38 sailors.

n terms of weapon systems, the OPVs will actually be closer to FACM (Fast Attack Craft Missile) or even light corvettes: The OPVs will be fitted with a 76mm main gun by Leonardo, 8x VLS cells for VL MICA surface to air missiles (by MBDA), two Marlins 30mm remote weapon stations (Leonardo), 4x Exocet MM40 Block III (MBDA) anti-ship missiles.

Leonardo is responsible for the integrated supply of the new naval units’ combat system (Athena), main radar system (Kronos) and on-board sensors and defence sub-systems, including the fire control system.

Two Sylena Mk2 decoy launchers by Lacroix will protect the vessels against anti-ship missile threats.

NARWHAL® accommodates the reliable Nexter 20mm automatic cannon (available in two versions), in service with the French Navy, Army and Air Force and in 25 countries worldwide. Firing either 20x102mm NATO standard, M50 and PGU type ammunition or 20x139mm ammunition with high terminal effect, NARWHAL® provides superior firepower with significantly higher effective range than those of heavy machine guns and is definitely a real alternative to greater medium calibre versions. Equipped with a dual-field day color camera and thermal imager, combined with a moving target auto-tracker, NARWHAL® ensures high standards of performance, exceptional accuracy and availability with superior hit performance up to an effective range of 2000m, facilitating reduced ammunition usage, even in severe weather conditions and rough sea.
