Thankfully, the evacuation center was left intact, though most buildings are damaged in some way.

PCG STATION SA PAG-ASA ISLAND

Ito ang kasalukuyang sitwasyon ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station sa Pag-asa Island, Kalayaan, Palawan ilang araw matapos ang matinding pananalasa ng Bagyong #OdettePH sa isla.

Sira man ang kabuuang istasyon, pero nananatiling matatag ang pundasyong humahawak sa watawat ng Pilipinas.

Sa pakikiisa ng sambayanang Pilipino, babangon ang isla ng Pag-asa at iba pang lugar na lubhang naapektuhan ng nagdaang kalamidad.

We will recover as one!

According to a release, BRP Capones (MRRV-4404) sailed from Puerto Princesa City in Palawan carrying relief supplies and drinking water meant for 300 families on Pag-asa Island in the West Philippine Sea.

A Coast Guard station on the island was destroyed by the typhoon, which also caused widespread damage in Palawan province. BRP Capones is bringing construction materials like hollow blocks and cement to repair the station there.

The coast guard also brought toys to be given to children on Pag-asa Island.

Naval Forces West of the Philippine Navy says it is committed to maintain patrols, despite the loss of 70-90% of the infrastructure in the Kalayaan Island Group.
