You would think that they would use this at night to take advantage of the new flir set up.

They probably would, if they have the APWKS already? or maybe the pilots are not yet cleared for night ops?

AW-109AH NIGHTHAWK

The Agusta Westland-109 Attack Helicopter is the result of the Attack Helicopter Acquisition Project of the AFP. A few months after the signing of contract between the Philippine government and Agusta Westland, the first 2 units were accepted on 17 August 2015 and the remaining 6 were delivered on 05 December 2015. The AW-109AH is a four bladed aircraft with two turboshaft engines and retractable tricycle landing gear. Its secured radio communication system, electronic optical/infrared sensor, flight director, weather radar, IFR equipment and precision weapons capabilities provide day and night lethal fire support to surface forces with less collateral damage. These newly acquired air assets are being operated by the 18th Attack Squadron.

#22 helicopter is clearly for photo op.

However, Sir A's photo showing #15 or "815" chopper doesn't have the FLIR underneath it. That photo somehow addressed Sir Manoks / Gemini's concerns.

So what happened to that FLIR? :o

#815 has a FLIR on that picture. It's not just on the same position as the Naval variant. The brown ones have their FLIR at the back side of the belly. You'll just notice a black ball peeking from the last picture above.
