https://www.facebook.com/DOTrPH/posts/2019303151542144After the project briefing for PNR Bicol, officers of Department of Transportation (DOTr), headed by Secretary Arthur P. Tugade, to inspect its alignment, specifically the future site of Legazpi Station and Depot.
According to Secretary Tugade, PNR Bicol is considered one of the flagship infrastructure projects of the government.
′′ We are really pushing for this project because here is what we call a combination of rail and international airport ", said Secretary Tugade.
Secretary Tugade also asked our Bicolano countrymen to unite, cooperate, and trust that the government can implement this project.
′′ Give us trust and prayer so that, along with our actions, our desire to finish the project before the end of our President's term will be realized," Secretary Tugade said.
PNR Bicol has a total length of 560 km, from Sucat, Parañaque to Matnog, Sorsogon, with a route from Calamba, Laguna to Batangas.
It consists of 35 stations, eight ( 8 ) trainsets, with a speed of 120-160 kph for regular trains, and 80-100 kph for freight trains or cargo trains.
Target to start Partial Operations of San Pablo-Candelaria-Lucena-Pagbilao segment in 1 Q-2 Q at 2022, while in 3 Q of the year 2025 the full operations of the rail line.
It's time to finish this, it's estimated that it will only take six (6) hours for passengers to Bicol from Manila using regular trains, while four and a half (4.5) hours will be the journey using express train . The time our fellow citizens save on their trip they can use time to spend longer with their family and loved ones.
This project will also help in giving jobs to our Bicolano countrymen. Time for construction to start, it is estimated at 20,000 workers required for this. 10,000 more employees will be needed time to start the operation of PNR Bicol.
