PCE-842 Class Patrol Craft Escort:
Laid down 16 December 1942 at Willamette Iron and Steel Corp., Portland, Oregon
Launched 3 August 1943
Commissioned USS PCE-897, 6 January 1945
Transferred to the Philippines in April 1948 and named BRP Iloilo (PS 32)

120708-N-KB052-328 CELEBES SEA (July 8, 2012) BRP Iloilo (PS 32), PCG Pampanga (SARV 003), BRP Malvar (PS 19) and USCGC Waesche (WMSL 751) join USS Vandegrift (FFG 48) for a photo exercise (PHOTOEX).  The event marks the conclusion of the at-sea phase of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Philippines 2012. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.  Timor Leste joins the exercise for the first time in 2012.  (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class N.
