How many mandatory ROTC graduates even have serial numbers?
« on: November 30, 2018, 02:00:54 AM »
The problem with Mandatory ROTC is that it produced more graduates than could be absorbed into the reserve force. Ask the ROTC graduates from the provinces. How many even received their serial numbers?

If ROTC is supposed to produce reservists, then all graduates should have serial numbers. Otherwise, what was the whole point?

The fact of the matter is, not everyone is qualified to be a reservist. Not everyone has the right mindset for it. So it shouldn't be mandatory. It is a privilege that should be earned, not something that is shoved down people's throats.

We were not issued by Army Reserve Command. I applied in PAF and I was accepted even if I had ROTC training with an ARESCOM in Manila.

My instructors in college ROTC provided me the serial numbers. It is still with me until to this present day.
