hmmm...I am wondering how muslim radicals and muslims in general would feel about this...they are not really fond of Israel, you know.

We've already bombed Marawi back to the stone age. How do they really about us now?

Given Duterte's standing with the Muslim community, it would arguably not be as bad as with alternative executives.

I think the idea of praising Israel and announcing publicly (which they do deserve) that we are getting direct (military) support from them even if it is against ISIS terrorists does not help in winning the hearts of our muslim people in general...AFAIK, most muslims if not all hate Israel, I am afraid that this will have a negative effect on DU30's popularity among our muslim people. This kind of pronouncements could be used by muslims radicals as talking points in recruiting future jihadis.

The premise of Muslims having to hate Israelis is really questionable at the moment. It's not the Muslim people who are against them but Muslim gov'ts trying to play hand at world politics, especially back then during the Cold War.

Have you ever heard the MILF, MNLF, etc. bring up Israel in their grievances?

Or do they focus more on non-Muslim encroachment on their traditional homeland?

Duterte is supporting Federalism to give them more autonomy than they currently have. Why would they jeopardize that for an agenda half a world away?

In my personal experience sir, having worked in north africa, middle east and also here in asia, and in several occasions having conversation with my muslim friends and co-workers about Israel, they do hate Israel...these are kind of people who you would think open-minded and well-educated by the way.

Sir, MNLF and MILF are moderates...I am talking about ISIS/Maute type of muslim radicals (some may have been ex-MNLF/MILF)...Surely, hating or even bringing death to Israel, America and the western way of life is their main goal and part of their propaganda.

Hence that's the result of what I have mentioned. These Muslim Gov'ts are demonizing Israel and other zionist, if I had to give it another name, it would be "gov't endorsed radicalization".

Duterte to bring home USD143.6-M fresh investments
By Jelly Musico  September 7, 2018, 10:51 pm

MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte will bring home a total of USD143.57 million worth of fresh investments from his six-day official visit to Israel and Jordan, Malacañang said Friday.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said USD82.9 million of the amount was the result of business meetings between the Filipino and Israeli businessmen.

He said three memorandum of agreements (MOAs), 11 memorandum of understandings (MOUs) and seven letter of intents (LOIs) have been signed during the business forum Israel.

“They have also met about defense and security cooperation and of course, we now recognize Israel as major partner in AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) modernization program,” Roque said in a press briefing in Amman, Jordan.

Roque said the Philippines is now one of the most important markets for arms made in Israel.

He said an agreement on labor cooperation has also been signed where 29,000 Filipino workers, mostly caregivers, will benefit in Israel.

Roque said the MOA on temporary employment of home-based Filipino caregivers will reduce, if not totally eliminate, the USD12,000 placement fee being charged from Filipinos who want to work in Israel.

In Jordan, Roque said two MOUs and eight LOIs have also been signed, resulting in USD60.7 million worth of investments.

“During the first visit of a Philippine president here in Jordan, there were some agreements including deals on political consultation, defense cooperation, investment and framework for the employment of domestic workers,” Roque said.

Around 49,000 Filipinos are working in Jordan, many of them are domestic workers.

During his meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein at the Al Husseinieh Palace, Duterte thanked the King of Jordan for donating two AH-15 Cobra attack helicopters and some firearms and ammunition.

Like in Israel, Duterte also met the Filipino community in Jordan to wrap up his productive visit.

He is set to arrive at the Davao International Airport on Saturday morning. (PNA)

Subic to become Israel ‘bridge to Far East’

Deal signed in Jerusalem to set up ex-US naval base as hub for Israeli vehicle, other imports from Asia
Philippine Daily Inquirer / 05:30 AM September 08, 2018

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT—Expect port revenues to surge in this economic zone after the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) entered into an alliance for the promotion of an “all-water route” between Subic and the Port of Eilat, the only Israeli port in the Red Sea.

The Port of Eilat, which is located at the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba, is used mainly for trading with countries in the Far East as it allows Israeli vessels to reach the Indian Ocean without sailing through the Suez Canal. It is also Israel’s gateway to South Africa and Australia.

But the arrangement will mean Israeli vessels will need to traverse disputed waters in the West Philippine Sea.
