https://news.mb.com.ph/2018/03/28/inventory-of-tourism-sites-starts-in-caraga-region/The officials and technical men of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) on Monday started their “on the ground” inventory and validation of all emerging tourism sites in northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region to avert a similar problem in Boracay.
All provincial and community environment and natural resources officers (PENROs and CENROs) spread all over the region will formulate management and development plans in their respective jurisdictions, particularly the towns that are maintaining tourism spots.
They also started coordinating with the local officials and other concerned line agencies of the government for a unified effort in formulating proper management plan.
The DENR is studying the impact of tourism on wildlife and marine resources in order to formulate restrictions in the interest of protecting their natural habitat.
