AFP Meal Ready-to-Eat
« on: February 11, 2018, 06:59:09 AM »
Photos c/o of a long-time Timawan who prefers to stay out of the limelight.

Notes:

- Better than the MREs issued in the 90s

- Includes Blend 45 3-in-1 coffee and Sunflower biscuits

- Pre-cooked rice that needs to be rehydrated by boiling

Any info on the shelf life? and has the AFP ordered these in bulk/large numbers and have some storage facilities that can keep these MREs from getting bad prior to its expiry date?
I have a non mil spec 3 day emergency kit which includes power bars, and it has a 3 year shelf life. I wonder if the Phil delicacies made into MREs can be made to last longer without adding too much preservatives, that it loses its taste?

Storage facilities in this manner are obtained by various companies as stated one in here. By nature, they usually allocate or say, reserve the portion of the products since that company is at contract with the government.
Never assume unless it is highly stated.

What a coincidence, I've been binging Steve1989's MRE reviews on YouTube over the past few weeks. ;D

On a related note: I previously couldn't find an MRE thread in the new forum so I feel like I should post these pics I saved from the old forum.

That said, what exactly were AFP MREs like in the 90s?

I get that those companies have the facilities to store those MREs. But what about the AFP? Obviously, they would have ordered in bulk. for distribution to other major bases, and from there, to smaller bases/camps in far flung areas.

Aside from providing provisions to the AFP . . . it also helps in our standing in the Halal market
