GOVERNMENT GEARS UP TO PREPARE 2019 BUDGET

The DBM has issued the Budget Call for 2019 under National Budget Memorandum No. 129 last January 3, 2018. The issuance outlines the budget preparation guidelines and procedures for the formulation and submission of agency budget proposals for 2019.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has pegged at P4.2 trillion the ceiling for the proposed 2019 national budget, which the countryís budget chief said will be mostly cash-based for the first time.

This 2019 PHP 4.2 Trilion budget ceiling is almost 500 billion more than the ₱3.77-trillion national budget for 2018.

The proposed AFP Modernization Fund for 2019 is still at PHP 25 billion. Hopefully, this will be increased when the House and Senate deliberates on this..
