Project Santa Barbara
« on: September 29, 2016, 01:57:18 PM »
These were MBLT6's photos that were shared on the original Project Santa Barbara thread. For many, this was the first time they had ever heard of this project

If I remember correctly, the original thread for this in the old forum had a few interesting stories about the project from some of the "old-timers" that were either involved with the project, or had close knowledge about it.  Those stories represented probably the best information about the mysterious project that wasn't shrouded in myth and spin.

Damn shame those stories "went down with the Titanic".

Happily, some web caches still have copies of older discussions. Note how long ago we've been talking about these topics.

The Self-Reliant Defense Posture program encompasses a very broad range of activities. The santa barbara project was merely a single facet of the original program, and actually built upon resources (e.g., an inventory of ex-US bombardment rockets, etc) that don't exist today.

The Duterte-era SRDP will likely build upon the momentum gained at the Government Arsenal.
