An appeal to Duterte supporters/defenders

Duterte supporters need to take the time to walk non-supporters through how they came to trust the President instead of just asking them to trust the man blindly. Telling them to "shut up and just have faith" simply won't work. Stay calm, and walk them through the thought process.

The Defense of the Republic of the Philippines FB group and forum works to ensure that BOTH pro and anti-Duterte camps speak to each other respectfully, without the kind of memes, low-blows and bull crap that you find in groups that are completely one-sided. We do this so that don't end up blinding ourselves to other people's views. People who understand what President Duterte is trying to do need to take the time to help those that are still confused to understand his message. You can't do that if you attack them just for thinking differently. The President is an unconventional leader, consequently, his approach will not be automatically obvious to conventional / traditional mainstream thinkers. Show some patience and walk folks through the journey of discovery that you have already gone through.

Part of the problem can be traced to a breakdown in civics.

Folks,

This is the kind of bullcrap that gives Duterte supporters a bad name. How EXACTLY does this kind of self-serving trash talk help the leader you claim to support?

Pro-Duterte blogger Drew Olivar is in hot water again, this time for publicizing a supposed “bomb scare” as people were set to stage demonstrations Friday to remember the 46th anniversary of the martial law declaration.

Olivar said in his initial Facebook post that it would be scary to stage a rally in Edsa as he claimed of rumors that the bombing at Plaza Miranda might happen again.
