Fort Frank (Carabao Island)
« on: April 25, 2017, 09:01:51 AM »
This is a video taken at Fort Frank on Carabao Island.  Fort Frank was the southernmost of the Fortified Islands of Manila Bay, just a few hundred yards from the Cavite shoreline.

The video was taken in one of the tunnels near Battery Greer, one of the 14 inch gun batteries on the island.

The guns themselves have long since fallen prey to the scrappers, who have also started pulling rebar from the tunnel walls and ceilings.

Fort Frank was manned by members of the 91st Coastal Artillery (Philippine Scouts) and the 2nd Philippine Army Coastal Artillery regiment.

Col. Celedonio Ancheta's "Wainwright Papers" vol. 2 described the American built coastal artillery bases in the Philippines. The only remaining copy of this book is in National Library.
