^ LOL exactly what I thought, when I read it last night.

So the PMC does not consider Force Recon as a special unit? If their job is harder than the other units, are they not supposedly getting or doing some types of specialized training not given to regular units?

Whats interesting to know is, was there any feedback on that RFI, from would be builders? Thats 7 years ago, some kind of info would have been published or leaked out?

Storage facilities in this manner are obtained by various companies as stated one in here. By nature, they usually allocate or say, reserve the portion of the products since that company is at contract with the government.

I get that those companies have the facilities to store those MREs. But what about the AFP? Obviously, they would have ordered in bulk. for distribution to other major bases, and from there, to smaller bases/camps in far flung areas.

Any info on the shelf life? and has the AFP ordered these in bulk/large numbers and have some storage facilities that can keep these MREs from getting bad prior to its expiry date?
I have a non mil spec 3 day emergency kit which includes power bars, and it has a 3 year shelf life. I wonder if the Phil delicacies made into MREs can be made to last longer without adding too much preservatives, that it loses its taste?

Structural fatigue is what I remember.
It would cost way more to keep it flying compared to the S211, plus I think then pres cory was not supportive of a well funded AFP/PAF.
On a side note, when the F5s were retired, 10 were kept on storage. 5 were still in flyable condition and the other 5 would need parts to make it flyable. Had the PAF pushed for at least funding those remaining jets, they would not have been in the condition prior the the FA50s arrival. We probably would have been able to jump straight to a true MRF.

Good catch Mamiyapis.

Could the addition of the VLS to be installed and not FFBNW an agreement between Hyundai and the DND, in exchange for changing the other gears that were initially in the spec?

Noting that the Air Force has a number of grounded UH1's due to lack of spare parts or some other reasons), and conversion of the PAF's fleet of Hueys to UH-II is the most cost effective way to increase the number of our CUH. One may wonder, what reason could the PAF have, for not going this route?

Airbus flies HForce weapons system on H145M helo

Airbus Helicopters announced on 8 August the first flight of an H145M fitted with the company’s new HForce generic weapon system (GWS).

The flight, which took place at the company’s Donauwörth facility in southern Germany at the end of August, saw the twin-engined helicopter fly with an FN Herstal 12.7 mm (.50 calibre) heavy machine gun pod (HMP) and a 70 mm (2.75 inch) rocket pod on side-mounted weapons pylons.

^ Well, That could only mean that the US still doubts the AFP's capability to maintain and or secure  high tech gears that were supposedly installed on that TARS, or.... maybe they think that, all we need is to see whats out there?

^ Whats with the "ah well" ....Is that a good thing or a bad choice?

Military Vehicles / Re: V-150 ambulance

This ambulance has been the recipient of medical equipments and other goodies, from donations initiated by Adroth. Jepot used to give us update of this ambulance's "tour of duty". That was years before the old Timawa was taken down.
Makes me wonder if this ambulance is still operational?

Why the sudden farewell? Does the GA have terms for length of service for its Directors? or it it something else?

Defense Legislation / Re: PH 2018 Budget

Locally funded projects also at 25 billion? Are these for building/upgrading of bases? Also the NCR with the same budget, but no specifications on what its for? Can these two allocated budget be diverted to fund the modernization projects that were hit by the peso devaluation?
