This is the reason why I prefer the F16C, check the video of the German Air Force when they were still flying the F4 jets, they buy mothballed Jets from the US just to maintain their own F4. Because in the future maybe it is already happening, the F16 would be like this F4.

Once we have a real MRF, we can invite Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia for a Philippine hosted mini red flag air combat exercise.

Intersting plot. Almost sounds like he became another world’s Merlin. Since the author is former SF, did he set out to look for his King Arthur?

No Merlin and other magical kingdom stuff. The man was an ordinary and a bit pudgy chemist.who likes call of duty and strategy video games. He was put in a planet that is very much like Earth where the people are originally from Earth but their  technology is similar to the year 1700 on earth. It is Eurocentric and feudal. He introduces a technology not by inventing it but by describing it to his people and with a technology that is available at the time or within that period's industrial and technological base. For example he introduces the Guano as fertilizer because of the abundance of bats and the high chair so that babies can sit  beside their parents in the dining room, franchising a business and cuisine from earth. The action is the best. The small island where the ordinary Joe nobody guy now live,  is living in fear and desperation because an enemy similar to the  British imperialist with the  NAZI like brutality are threatening to invade the whole island. Enter the hero who could not even stomach to kill a chicken. His military strategy, tactics and logistic suggestion  to the islanders are just very practical that any ordinary man on earth with above intelligence can think off.

Guys  do you read military science fiction? This is a Very good book. You won’t be able to put it down.  It took me about just 10 days  to finish the four books. I am so glad I found it. It is a series up to books 4 only. I rated it 5 star on amazon book review and good read.
I highly recommended it!

Stealth / Re: F-35 Export
« on: March 23, 2018, 12:28:18 PM »
The Philippines should go for broke and get the F35 instead
( assuming the US is willing to sell it to us) Because stealth is the future. The price of the F35 is expected to go down more soon, and if the US would sell it to India, Saudi Arabia and UAE the price of the F35 would go down further, probably about the same price as the Eurofighter. Forget the short leg and less payload GRIPPEN or even the soon to be out of production F16 jets. It takes almost a decade to complete the delivery of about 24 Grippen and F16 jets. The reason is because Lockheed and Saab is trying to stretch the
Manufacturing process. To maintain the production line for as long as possible and hoping for more orders to come before they lay off thousands of highly skilled aerospace workers.

If we have to wait until the end of the term of the President, or ten more years from now, so be it. A decade from now, I expect our economy to be very strong enough to jump start a modest but still vigorous military modernization program.

How come they can afford it. The Philippines is a mighty giant economically compared to Uganda

Assuming we have the money for upgrade and refurbishment, if we ask the US to donate 12 F16, do you guys think the US would give it to us?
